Often working under extreme conditions, emergency personnel have one of the most difficult jobs in healthcare. Unpredicatable situations can result in tremendous variation in CPR technique and consequently its effectiveness. By eliminating guesswork in the field and introducing a measure of control, emergency personnel can control all aspects of chest compression; compression point, compression-decompression ratio and rate ratio - while essentially using the same technique as for standard CPR.
