HATS OFF can be used in any situation where the wearer of a helmet is is unconcious or may have suffered and injury to the cervical spine to remove the helmet without risking further injury.

The HATSOFF process offers a unique, low tech, low cost solution to the problem of safe helmet removal. The system consists of a polythene airbag, inserted in a deflated state to the upper inside surface of the casualty's helmet, with an inflation tube exiting the helmet at the forehead. A hand pump is attached to the end of the tube and the airbag is gently inflated.

The inflation then carries the helmet vertically off the head without risking injury to the neck or spine.

This device can be used in safety helmets for any sport or leisure activity.
