UK Border Force chooses SP to supply AED’s

SP Services has supplied the UK Border Force with 110 iPad SP1 AED’s. The AED’s will be placed at UKBF sites where there are more than 20 staff and these will complement the existing AED’s that were installed in Custody Suites in 2012.

As an Approved Supplier to UKBF, SP Services already supplies tailor-made Parabag Kits for their Medical Emergency & Resuscitation (MER) and Custody Early Warning Score (CEWS) training programme.

Border Force Senior Officer Neil Dangerfield said: “Our decision to install AEDs in Border Force workplaces, including some smaller ports and offices, was taken with our wider workforce in mind but many of these areas are also spaces that the public and other workers pass through.

Steve Furnell, founder of Resuscitation and Medical Consultancy and Medical Advisor to UKBF said, “Every second counts when someone collapses and stops breathing. These devices are simple to use by anyone with little or no training. The sooner it is used in a collapse, the better the chances of a positive outcome”.

Furthermore, an article published in the BMJ Heart Publication (August 2018 – Volume 104-16) found that on-site AED’s achieve 93% ROSC, versus a 9% ROSC where there is no AED.

SP Services supplies a full range of AED’s, Consumables and Accessories; contact us today to discuss your needs and requirements.
