Unfortunately, children are just as likely as adults to suffer a sudden cardiac arrest. To be prepared for such a case, it's essential to have paediatric electrode pads as part of your AED first aid kit.

Paediatric pads reduce the joule output from a defibrillator to a level which is suitable to the heart of a child - a feature which is guaranteed in the Defibtech Lifeline AED Paediatric Defibrillation Pad Package.

This paediatric defibrillation pads package includes one set of paediatric pads and a connector wire assembly in a sealed pouch. These electrode pads are recommended for use on children over the age of 1 years old up to 8 years of age.

Once a child has suffered a sudden cardiac arrest, the following minutes are crucial. If treatment is provided within 3-5 minutes (defibrillator and CPR administration), survival chances increase from 6% to 74%.

Once removed from the protective foil packaging, apply the preconnected pads to the patient. Clear images will help the first responder apply the electrode pads correctly.

Then the pads can relay heart data to the defibrillator, and the unit can decide if treatment is necessary.
